Coldwell Banker Village Green Realty’s Kingston NY Real Estate office is proud to present the art of Sean Willett in the exhibition Local Landscapes as part of our "Gallery At Work" series.

About Sean Willet:

Through the lush green flora, beside a babbling brook, amongst the fleeting ochres of autumn, or pearl-essence of winter, you'll find Sean with easel and canvas. Inspired by the myriad of changing landscapes of the Hudson Valley of New York, don't be too shy to say hello as he paints plein air.

Sean's work has been exhibited at several galleries, cafes, bookstores, libraries and other fine establishments. If he's not commingling at a reception, or poised under a tree, paint brush in hand, you'll find Sean in his studio. Perhaps creating from his other two favorite genres, portraiture and the surreal. The former typically being either commissioned, or of persons of some wondrousness in which he aims to convey. And the latter, utilized for such efforts as to express the less material and more ineffable.

Since his first commission as a high school senior to paint a recently passed faculty member for the school library, Sean has been solicited for many such memorial portraits. In addition to a spectrum of other projects including album covers, menus and signage for businesses, tattoo designs, event posters and more. Most recently being a mural on a converted live-in bus with graffiti artist Max Cuciti.

With his artwork, Sean aspires to reflect the complexity and harmony of nature, humanity and the unconscious. His style oscillates between the surreal, abstract and figurative expressionism. Navigating the path on which contemporary culture aesthetically communicates, Sean takes from several styles and movements to best capture that idea, person or place.
