Last week, two of our agents and one of the members of our marketing team sat down with the designer and builder of the Hempcrete houses that are newly available in Stone Ridge, Paul Petrov. Paul is first of all, a ton of fun, second an expert in green building technologies who’s willing to share his deep knowledge and total enthusiasm for the topic, and third a lover of the Hudson Valley landscape and lifestyle. What follows is an edited – by half – version of our talk. Frankly, we could have talked and learned from Paul for twice as long as we did. We’re sharing the portions in which we didn’t veer wildly off-topic – we kept it to building and architecture! Here are all our (and your) questions about building with Hempcrete answered!

Here are the first 9 things that popped into our head...

#1 - Mud Crafts

We'll start with the obvious activity - mudcraft. Some of our best childhood memories involve mud. These mud-soaked memories have stuck with us, not because we spent a disproportionate amount of time in the mud, but rather because the mud was so fun, it left an impression. These articles offer a

Kevin Palfreyman: Hudson Valley Luminism

Coldwell Banker Village Green Realty’s Catskill NY Real Estate office is proud to present the art of Kevin Palfreyman in an exhibition titled Hudson Valley Luminism as part of our "Gallery At Work" series.

A few years later he married artist Linda Wainwright Palfreyman who introduced him to plein-air painting. Here, he found a home in nature that fostered his

Living In The Caribbean

Imagine if I told you that you could own a home near tropical white sandy beaches and turquoise waters with a year-round temperature of 82 degrees and not have to leave the country to do it; would you want to hear more?

Owning a home in the Caribbean is a dream come true for me. In 2004 my husband and I took a weeks scuba diving vacation on St Croix in the US Virgin Islands. Because you cannot dive and fly in the same day (you need to off-gas nitrogen in between) we had some free time before departing. Fortunately for us Coldwell Banker St Croix was located in the Buccaneer Hotel at the time, so I went out with an agent…just to see...since we were loving it there...

St Croix is the largest of the three
