Tannersville NY Real Estate

Homes For Sale In Tannersville NY

Tannersville NY real estate is bright colors, it's living minutes from one of NY's premiere ski resorts, it's having access to sun, woods, mountains, waterfalls, lakes, dining close to home and more, more, more just a little further afield. Tannersville real estate is fun real estate! Once you hit "the mountaintop", you’ll never want to leave. The air really is better up here.

The first thing you'll likely notice about Tannersville (and the delight of it never goes away) is that the buildings are colorfully painted, kind of like Procida except in the Catskill Mountains, not off the coast of Naples. Route 23A is the main street in the village, and you’ll find the necessities of everyday life there including a supermarketfresh produce, gas stations, a laundromat, even an electric vehicle charging station. You’ll find a yoga studio, a hardware store, a pharmacy, a great library, a car mechanic, doctors… all the services you need to make your day to day life living in Tannersville smooth.

Tannersville NY Lifestyle

Tannersville Homes For Sale

Tannersville is famous for outdoor activities: skiing at Hunter Mountain or, a bit further north, Windham Mountain; cross-country skiing at Mountain Trails Center, hiking or biking from the Huckleberry Multi-Use Trail/Tannersville Bike Path and camping at Devil’s Tombstone. There's even a lovely public garden: the Mountaintop Arboretum.

So, what do people do besides the obvious outdoor activities in Tannersville? They might take art classes, visit galleries, and see plays and concerts all thanks to the Catskill Mountain Foundation and other Greene County organizations that bring arts to the mountains - keeping us cultured while we enjoy the fresh air.

The Catskill Mountain Foundation runs the Orpheum TheaterDoctorow Center for the Arts, the Piano Performance Museum, Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts (in Maplecrest, a few miles north of Tannersville) and the Kaaterskill Shop & Bookstore. Through CMF you’ll experience performing and visual arts, film, even a Natural Agriculture farm.

Before or after all these cultural adventures you’re certain to be thirsty and hungry, and Tannersville will not let you down on that score. For breakfast you’ve got Catskill Mountain Country Store for French toast and strawberry pancakes, fresh juices and Eggs McMaggie at Maggie’s Krooked Café, coffee and fresh donuts at Twin Peaks or a simple egg-and-cheese sandwich at the Village Market & Deli.

At lunchtime you’ve got the aforementioned breakfast places plus pot pie or a veggie burger at Last Chance Cheese; burgers of various persuasions, mac-n-cheese and ice cream at Mama’s Boy; or pizza at Sal’s. Hunter Mountain Brewery opens at noon on the weekends, and they've got a great deck to hang out on with mountaintop Catskills views. Sensational in the autumn!

Happy hour in Tannersville happens at the Hilltop Bar & Grill. When you’re ready for dinner you should find yourself at Pancho Villa’s Mexican, on the patio at the Deer Mountain Inn or enjoying the gorgeous view from Scribner's Prospect.

One special place we love is the Tanners Boathouse for a surprising seafood menu worthy of Cape Cod! Enjoy whilst gazing over the lake from the patio; rent one of their canoes before or after your meal or follow the nature trail. Which leads us full circle and back to the great outdoors, starting with the lake where Tanners Boathouse is: Rip Van Winkle Lake (aka Tannersville Lake, Meadowbrook Lake, Gooseberry and Beaver Pond), favorite of the locals for cooling off, picnicking, basketball courts, handball courts, volleyball courts, disc golf, and the skateboard park. Tin Cup Restaurant & Bar is another place that locals frequent when getting in a round of golf at Colonial Country Club.

With all this, plus the annual Fathers’ Day Car Show, Halloween Spooktacular, Tannersville Rocks the Vets benefit, the numerous festivals at Hunter Mountain life can be full of good times in Tannersville.
