Great Game Rooms of The Hudson Valley and Catskills

You know what I love about fall? The Chill. I don't just mean the chill in the air (which is delicious), I mean the fact that in the fall, I can chill! All summer I feel obligated to knock it out of the park, to have as much outdoor fun as humanly possible. Hiking, swimming, boating, beach walking, bbq'ing, playing guitar on the lawn, supervising night time games of man-hunt, biking, cartwheels....my family shoehorns the maximum amount of activity into every single day. It can get a little...um...exhausting! In the summer I feel like going inside is a betrayal of a glorious gift. That's a lot of pressure!

Every year by the time we get to Labor Day I am so ready for a stiff breeze to roll in. The breeze is welcome to be carrying a light drizzle. I'm ready for the smell of wood smoke on the air and some apple cider doughnuts. I'm ready for a puzzle and a "My Fair Lady"/"The Sound of Music" marathon snuggled up on one of those crazy recliner couches with my favorite blankie. Who's with me? 

If you just howled out "Me, Me, I'm with you! I'm sunburned! The elastic has worn out on my bathing suit! I'm okay with never ever eating potato salad ever, ever again!", then you know what you need? You need to shoot some pool. Where's the best place to do that? Your very own game room. You know what else you need? A media room. You know why? Because there is no better place on earth to totally chill. As the weather cools down if you look deep inside you'll realize you don't really want to stop having fun. You just want to have a different kind of fun. What you want is to chill out cozied up in your own home. Here are my picks for places you can do just that - in no particular order because they are all pretty great!

#1. 124 Notch Inn Road, Hunter NY Real Estate For Sale

The game room/media room combo at 124 Notch Inn Road in Hunter is perfect. Open the double doors for a connection to the outside (the views at this property are spectacular), watch a movie, play some ping-pong (if you haven't played ping-pong in a while, trust me, it's awesome), jam with friends or just play a good long game of monopoly. This game room is on the lower level of an absolutely gorgeous home. Bonus for those who truly love to chill - a fantastic covered porch with an outdoor fireplace, and a hot tub where you can take in the views.

Plus Lexington has some of the most beautiful land in Greene County. You'll feel your blood pressure drop the minute you cross the town line.
