Posted by Coldwell Banker Village Green Realty on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at 9:05am
Welcome, fellow adventurers, culture connoisseurs, and accidental tourists who took a right turn while searching Upstate Real Estate on our website and ended up on our Hudson Valley and Catskills events blog! As we round out the end of February and catapult ourselves into March 2024 - the air is snow-filled, culture is happening, songs are being sung, artwork hung, sap is starting to flow, and we're finding our way through this season of not quite knowing how many layers we'll need with our Upstate NY fashion sense intact, on point even! (As real estate agents we know how to pick a pair of snow boots that will work in a casual dining situation!) If you're looking for something to do this weekend, great - you've stumbled upon the right spot! We're here to guide you through the delightful chaos of cultural events offered by the many wonderful organizations and artists that keep things interesting for us all year round. Enjoy! And if you have any questions about the events, towns in the region, or properties that are available call us at 845-253-4040.

Woodstock Farm Festival Winter Farmer’s Market
Where: Woodstock Farm Festival, Woodstock, NY
Oh, it can seem such a stretch from the last Farmer's Market in the fall to the garlic ramps in the spring. But there's a winter market in Woodstock with winter produce, fish, meat, cheeses and prepared foods. Hallelujah! Woodstock Farm Festival is not only known for its fresh local offerings but for the community at the event and the entertainment. For many of us, it's a regular part of the weekend.

Aprés Ski Deer Mountain Inn

Specialty hot cocktails by the fire? Nice!

Sounds like a great community event!

Longing Lasts Longer
Where: Bridge Street Theater, Catskill, NY
"Catskill’s Bridge Street Theatre, in collaboration with NYC’s White Horse Theatre Company, closes out its 2024 SoloFest with the legendary downtown performance artist Penny Arcade in her one-woman show “Longing Lasts Longer”. A unique blend of stand-up comedy and memoir set in a riveting rock-and-roll soundscape mixed live onstage by Penny Arcade’s collaborator of 29 years Steve Zehentner, “Longing Lasts Longer” is a fierce, visionary, and ultimately forward-looking critique of the erasure of history, the rise of nostalgia, and the pervasiveness of cultural amnesia created by international gentrification – a crack in our planet’s post-gentrified landscape, shining a light on the path to individual authenticity. This international performance legend, whose name has become globally synonymous with "Downtown New York Art”, combines poetics, comedy, and rock-and-roll into what can only be called cultural critique you can dance to! “Longing Lasts Longer” will be presented Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23 at 7:30pm and Sunday March 24 at 2:00pm on Bridge Street Theatre’s “Priscilla Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street in Catskill, NY.
