Verbank, which is part of the town of Union Vale is a hamlet just south of Millbrook, known for its beautiful village and its broad equestrian estates. Verbank is the kind of place where the tree-lined roads are set with colonial and ranch-style homes and small businesses like auto body repair shops and pizza joints that serve the daily needs of residents. Turn off the main road, and there’s beauty all around you!
Verbank is home to two community parks and is the type of town where the community uses the parks: there’s a baseball diamond, softball diamond, Little League field, volleyball court and pavilion at Godfrey Park. Then there’s the nearly 500-acre Tymor Park. If you look at the Union Vale Facebook page-- where people post about everything from lost car keys, lost cats and lost dogs to a video of a tree being felled at the town hall—the Tymor Park events posted throughout the year point to a vibrant community eager to get together and celebrate. Tymor Park hosts outdoor movie nights with food trucks, summer camp, full-moon hikes, a Halloween party, Oktoberfest, a Memorial Day Service and, for nearly 30 years, the Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival. On a day-to-day, year-round basis, locals take advantage of the park’s nearly 16 miles of trails, an ice rink, pool, baseball diamond, soccer field, canoe launch on Furnace Pond—named for an iron mine that was once nearby—day care facilities and an equestrian center with dressage arena, stadium ring and cross-country course.
