Upstate New York - It's For the Dogs

It's our great pleasure to help hundreds of humans find their perfect place in Upstate New York. But it gives us a special warm, fuzzy feeling to help their furry family members find a new home. For many of these pets moving here means more room to play or a quiet place to be. For some it even means becoming a local celebrity! Here are three stories. We'd love to hear yours!

Moses Mansfield - what a guy!

A few years ago Moses and his people Babs, Phil and Calli Mansfield bought a home we had for sale in Phoenicia, NY. They've all settled into Phoenicia. Babs works in development at the Center For Photography in Woodstock, owns Phoenicia Soap Company  (she makes the gorgeous soap herself in their home), is a published writer, and in her free time volunteers at the Phoenicia Library teaching Ukelele. Phil is a truly splendid photographer who works for the Culinary Instutute of America, does amazing freelance work, and helps out as photographer for the Paul Green Rock Academy. Both are former professional actors and if you're lucky, every once in a while, you might get to see them onstage or directing a project locally. Their daughter Calli is equally multi-talented. She's a student at Onteora High School who performs almost weekly with The Paul Green Rock Academy singing and playing rock classics as well as songs she writes herself.
With all this sparkling talent you might think that their dog Moses would seem the wet blanket of the family....
That is SO not the case! A short walk down the street with Moses and you realize he is the belle of Phoenicia's ball. Everyone knows him by name, lots of folks are so familiar they even call him "Mosie". Most of the shops, the library, the post office, and the bank all keep treats for him! He's gluten intollerant, so they keep gluten free treats for him. When he gets one he does a little routine that's worthy of his family pedigree. The town's level of enthusiasm for this little guy is almost too much to be believed. But that's Phoenicia. It's a wild, wonderful, welcoming community full of creative people who are willing to take a few minutes to stop and smell the roses - or give a dog a bone.
We're so glad we were able to help Moses and his people find what seems to be the perfect place for them.

Sometimes everyone doesn't agree on what makes a property special. Sometimes it's the quiet, sometimes it's the space, sometimes it's the great architecture of the home. Sometimes it's simply that it's "somewhere else". Three dogs, 2 little girls and 2 grown-ups share a wonderful cottage in Woodstock, NY. It is their escape from city life and a chance to have some freedom, consort with fairies, and swing high without waiting in a line. They all manage to love their place in a different way.

Once upon a time there was a dog named Ruby. Her people loved her so much that they went on a home search with all her needs in mind. They ended up a great piece of Woodstock Real Estate with us. Fast forward a few years. Ruby isn't around any more, but adorable Chumley and Suzy now spend their days frolicking around the property she loved and snuggling in the amazing tiny house that her people built.
