Onteora Park Open House June 25th 1-5pm

948 Country Route 25, Tannersville NY 12485

“The fine arts should be regarded as the crowning glory of all the arts, equally necessary and useful to man, who in his desire to reach the perfect existence, with the joy of life as the spring of his impulses, draws from nature about him every element possible which will contribute to his pleasure and satisfaction.”

-George Reid, Painter and Architect of 948 Country Route 25, Tannersville.

Rochester's in Upstate NY right?

Way, way Upstate? Well...yes and no. There's the Rochester in Monroe County on Lake Ontario, and then there's the other Rochester, the Rochester in Ulster County. It's better known by the names of two of its hamlets, Accord and Kerhonkson. But it's not as well known as it deserves to be!

Kerhonkson and Accord, NY Real Estate

Rochester is a collection of hamlets, the 2 largest being Kerhonkson and Accord. The town itself was founded in 1703 and has grown to a population of over 7,500 people. It boasts some of the most gorgeous and challenging hiking and mountain biking trails in the country located in the beautiful Shawangunk mountains. The towns hamlets boast everything from independent bookshops to

Upscale Home for Rent

There’s a little secret we Upstate NY Real Estate Agents keep. But today I’m in the mood to let the cat out of the bag. Get ready….it’s coming….here it is. We have a shortage. A shortage of year-round luxury rentals.

Much of the time this isn’t a huge problem – we have plenty of short term luxury rentals for the summer, ski rentals for the winter, plenty of nice mid-range homes for year round rental. But as the Catskills and Hudson Valley become an alternative escape for the Hamptons (read my highly controversial Catskills vs. The Hamptons post) the demand for luxury rentals that offer

64 Chase Road

64 Chase Road, Shokan, NY

A bucolic farmhouse on a country road lined by huge maples. Acres and acres of land to wander, and a barn. A barn! For sheep, or parties, or a rope swing. Or for all of those things! That’s “the dream”, isn’t it? What everyone wants in their piece of Catskills Real Estate.

Here’s the rub; in the Catskills there are just not enough bucolic homesteads to fulfill the dreams of the masses. They are far more rare than we real estate professions want to admit to ourselves. It’s tough when we can’t fulfill the dreams of everyone who comes to us for help. So, when a property comes on the market that so perfectly satisfies “the dream”, we want to shout out!  Shout from the perfectly pitched rooftop of that farmhouse, so
