Cottages For Sale in The Catskills | Catskills Real Estate

I love a small cottage. There's nothing nicer than arriving in the Catskills and dropping your bag in your cozy cottage and heading out to do whatever you've got planned. Why are you so care free? Because your little cottage needs nothing from you! You don't need to attend to the many bedrooms, the sprinkler system, the 3 car garage that needs a good clean-out, the many bluestone terraces that need weeding. In a glance you can take it all in, see all is well, and go about your fun. That's the life! Smart you for buying Catskill Real Estate that gives you the gift of chaos free enjoyment.

If you'd rather sweet and easy than grand and high-maintenance here are a few cottages for sale right now that could help you live weekend bliss.

105 Risely Lane, Woodstock (above)

This is the perfect little retreat. Honestly, if I needed another house, I would buy this in a split second. If you think it's cute, come see it now because I don't see such a low-maintenance cutie that's in walking distance to Woodstock hanging around for too long. I love the hip simplicity of the interior. The yard is lovely and peaceful and it's the kind of place you can lend out to friends with no worries for you (they'll be able to find everything and won't be confused) and no worries for them (they won't have to be afraid they're going to break your fancy bidet, dishwasher, or dumbwaiter.)

18-20 Juniper Lane, Woodstock

Walk to the village of Woodstock (making your weekend even easier)! This property has secret awesome sauce, it has two cottages on over 3 acres. So, you can live in one all the time and rent the other out. Or if you really want the easy life, buy the property with a friend, they'll use one house, you'll use the other. Everyone will have weekend bliss!

1550 Route 20, Durham

At 1900 square feet this one's a bit large to be considered a "cottage", but it's very near Windham Mountain Mountain and properties in the area can top 4,000 square feet. So by comparison, this is petite. 10 acres and a great location!

178 Park Road, Lexington

This little beauty of a Catskills Log Cabin has so many great features. I know I should wax poetic about all of them but I'm honestly so fascinated by the walls, I'm finding it hard to look anywhere else. The little kid in me just want to touch them, or spend hours counting the knots. You could put any furniture in here and it would look cool. It's so simple and so beautiful.

1255 County Route 10, Windham

This is another option that kind of blasts my whole "small is good" theme. But it has such great cottage style I couldn't leave it out and it's another well-priced ski option

 6 Old Carriage Road, Cuddebackville

Is there any more melodious word in the English language than "lakefront"?This great little place has it, on Guymard Lake, plus a dock for swimming and boating from, and a screened in porch to die for. It's only an hour and a half from NYC.

180 Tinker Street Woodstock

Writing this I realize that we've got an actual selection of walk-to-Woodstock properties! That's pretty rare. Here's one that I really like. It has an open carport which is practical AND easy, a great patio outback, and a wonderful cozy living room. There's also a handicap ramp to the front door, again, practical and nice!

278 Deer Run Road Ashland

Pristine! A yard with a pond and a spot for animals if you get more ambitious. There's also a low-maintenance steel garage that could be used as an artist studio or workshop...or not. Just a few minutes drive into Main Street Windham and to Windham Mountain for skiing.

28 Dawson Lane, Kerhonkson

This is the latest home from Catskill Farms Builders. Modern, energy efficient construction meets country charm. An open floor plan, tons of light and a beautiful location. I really love the finishing choices Catskill Farms makes. They use beautiful doors, trim, tile, and paneling to create a brand new home that feels like it has history. We've sold many of them and they're always just perfect. Bonus? Kerhonkson is such a beautiful area. Placed between the Catskills and the "Gunks" it has amazing views and great access to arts and activities. It doesn't get as much media coverage as Woodstock, Phoenicia, or New Paltz but if you've never been there you should take a drive.

56 Middle Point Road, Rock Hill

One more waterfront cottage! This one is on Wanaksink Lake. There's a private lake club which offers tennis courts, community beach and clubhouse with summer activities so you can move in and be immediately entertained. Just imagine sitting on those chairs and chatting with your friends and family as they doggie paddle around the dock. Heaven!
